Alpha Omega was founded in 2006 by Robin Baggett, a former attorney who had built a successful wine business in the 1990s, and his wife Michelle. The Baggetts wanted to create a Napa Valley winery that operated at the very top of quality without the century of history that most established estates carry, relying instead on the best fruit sources in the valley and a team of talented winemakers to produce wines that could stand alongside Napa’s most celebrated names from the very first vintage. The winery sits on Mee Lane in Rutherford, with a tasting room and production facility that opened to great interest from collectors and critics alike.
Building Quality from the Ground Up
Robin Baggett came to winemaking after a legal career in the wine industry and several years building smaller wine brands. He and Michelle purchased land and a facility in Rutherford in the mid-2000s and assembled a team that included Bordeaux-trained consultants and seasoned Napa winemakers. The “Alpha Omega” name was chosen to convey both a beginning and an aspiration: the winery’s first vintage and the commitment to always seeking the highest expression of each wine. The approach worked: early vintages attracted critical scores and collector interest that most new wineries spend a generation waiting for.
Alpha Omega proved quickly that a new winery with no legacy could compete at the top of Napa quality if the fruit sources and winemaking team were right.

Alpha Omega is based in Rutherford, one of the most revered Cabernet-growing districts in Napa Valley, home to what old-timers call “Rutherford dust,” a combination of well-drained benchland soils, deep alluvial deposits, and a warm mesoclimate that produces Cabernet of extraordinary depth and texture. The winery sources estate and purchased fruit from Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena, and Howell Mountain, blending across appellations to create wines that combine terroir specificity with broad, complex flavor. The estate is certified sustainable under the Napa Green program.
The Wine Portfolio: Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc
The flagship is the Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon, blended from multiple Napa appellations and built to show the breadth of what Napa Cab can be. The Reserve Cabernet is a smaller-production bottling that focuses on the finest lots of the vintage. The winery also produces a well-regarded Chardonnay from cool-climate sources in the Carneros and southern Napa appellations, built for freshness and texture rather than weight, and a Sauvignon Blanc that has drawn particular praise for its precision and aromatic complexity. Single-vineyard and single-appellation bottlings are also released in small quantities when individual sites excel.

Alpha Omega Cabernet is a rich, structured wine that pairs naturally with red meat, lamb, and robust preparations. A bone-in ribeye, lamb rack with garlic and rosemary, or braised short ribs with root vegetables give the wine’s tannins something to work against while the fruit and oak character unfolds. The Chardonnay, with its focus on freshness and texture, is excellent alongside grilled salmon, seared halibut, roasted chicken with lemon, or creamy pasta dishes. The Sauvignon Blanc is a natural match for oysters, grilled asparagus, goat cheese salads, and lighter seafood preparations where the wine’s citrus and herb notes can shine.
