Camins 2 Dreams

Two married winemakers, one of them a Chumash tribal member, the other from Catalonia, making organic, low-intervention Sta. Rita Hills wine and quietly breaking ground while they do it.

Camins means paths in Catalan, and the name is no accident. Camins 2 Dreams is the shared dream of Tara Gomez and Mireia Taribo, a married couple and a winemaking team whose paths to this cold corner of California could hardly have been more different, or led somewhere more worth tasting.

Two paths, one cellar

Tara Gomez is a member of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, the people who have called this land home for thousands of years, and one of the first Native American women to make wine in California. Mireia Taribo came from Catalonia, in northern Spain, with old-world training and instincts. Together they founded Camins 2 Dreams and committed to organically farmed fruit and a low-intervention cellar, native fermentations, whole clusters, and a light hand, letting the cold Sta. Rita Hills speak. As women, as a married couple, and as a Native and immigrant team, they have become quietly groundbreaking figures in California wine, and the bottles back up every bit of the story.

The wines

Camins 2 Dreams focuses on cool-climate Rhone and other grapes from the Sta. Rita Hills: bright, peppery Syrah, perfumed Grenache, and crisp, textural whites like Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. The wines are fresh, lower in alcohol, and food-driven, made with restraint and real soul.

What to drink it with

The cool-climate Syrah is built for Santa Maria tri-tip or grilled lamb, where its pepper and dark fruit meet the char, while the Grenache, softer and red-fruited, loves roast pork or duck. The crisp whites are naturals with goat cheese, oysters, or grilled fish, their acidity cutting the richness and resetting the palate.
